This post series is part of the installation series, which will attempt to add to the standard instructions
This article will focus on the Manual OAS installation on windows, including the required weblogic install, therefore you will need already prepared:
An Oracle Database, one of the supported ones for the system tables (aka rcu tables). See this document: Certification – Repository Creation Utility (RCU) Databases (oracle.com)
A Windows server 2019. If you need a licence then I suggest you get a MAPS account. You will get some free Azure included!
You will also need to install Java SDK 1.8 211 update from the Java SE Archive. INstall it somewhere handy, C:\Java
NOTE: I did initially try with the 351 Update, but that caused problem when running the application. Annoying it installed fine, but refused to run! It maybe you get better success than I – it does say 211+ in the supported systems Certification – Repository Creation Utility (RCU) Databases (oracle.com)
You will need to collect the software from edelivery.orcale.com
You will need the Fusions MIddleware (weblogic) and the Analytics Server zip files.
Unzip the zip files somewhere handy, like C:\Software !
At some stage we will do an Automated install (to a point), so if you have the technology, then I suggest youy take a snapshot of your server with the database up and running. You can then use it as the starting point for practice installs
There are three main steps to get OAS up and running:
1. Install Weblogic, aka Fusion Middleware
2. Install the OAS Software
3. Create your ‘Domain’
run the installer:
Open the command window, prefereably with Administrator rights.
Type in the command line:
C:\Java\jdk1.8_211\bin\java.exe -jar C:\Software\fmw...
The installer will startup – if you have your java path correct!
Boring page when you start the Installer. Remember, This is the start of something good!
Now just hit the Next Key
Take a Break
I will go and sit on the beach now, while you get the above in place.
Come back tomorrow for the next steps…
