Whats the best way to communicate with a fish?
Drop them a line!
(or Give them a wave)
Apparently, last week we had the most depressing Monday of the year. Post xmas blues, no money, yuck weather.
So I’m glad thats over and we can all get back to being positive about the year ahead: A year full of OBIEE challenges, with a sprinkle of APex, Exalytics, and R.
To help me, I’m reading these blogs…
Jason Jones shares the best and most popular posts of 2017. These include Hacking the Essbase Java API to Run Application Calcs and Improvements to the Next Generation Outline Extractor

BICS predictions include:
- Operators will embrace new approaches, collaborate with OTT players and adopt a ‘connected world’ mind-set
- Mergers and acquisitions will continue next year, boosted by the IoT
- Communications-as-a-Service will drive application-to-person communications and the return of SMS
This blog describes BICS as “Oracle BI Cloud Services, an eminent cloud offering from Oracle, a platform for creating powerful business intelligence applications, thereby enabling users from the workgroup to the enterprise.”
It then explores the features of BICS, asks ‘Why choose BICS?’, lists the advantages of BICS over on premise OBIEE.
Edgar Haren shares a guest blog from Tim Vlamis. In this blog, Tim discusses Oracle’s new Oracle Analytics Cloud, and the benefits this cloud service can offer their customers.
Joseph Kuttikat shares this video:

Mitch Campbell was asked, “What does Oracle Essbase actually DO?” He endeavours to answer that question! For more information about Oracle Essbase in the Cloud, visit here.
Infosys writes that it is worth it to recap what has happened in the last year. They finish by saying, “I would like to conclude this article by stating that OAC would be a comprehensive cloud analytics platform to meet end to end BI and Analytics needs of an organization. It strikes right balance by providing advantages of cloud with on premises like control.”
